RACHEL NICHOLS, Artist/Owner of Focal Point Tattoo
Hi, I’m Rachel Nichols, artist and owner of Focal Point Tattoo. My journey as a tattoo artist began in 2020, driven by a love for art as a form of self-expression. I specialize in colorful, quirky, whimsical designs with a touch of the unexpected, drawing inspiration from nature, animals, and the beauty in things that are a little outside the norm. The tattoos I create tell stories—not just about me as an artist, but about the people who wear them. I believe tattoos are deeply personal and celebrate what makes each of us who we are. Whether you’re looking for a custom piece or one of my signature flash designs, I aim to create art that’s meaningful and beautiful.
I’ve always been drawn to the beauty in life’s oddities—nature’s quirks, the creatures that often go unnoticed, and the little things that make the world feel wonderfully strange. My art reflects that same curiosity and appreciation for the unexpected. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist (in the best way), making sure every tattoo gets the care and attention it deserves.
When I’m not tattooing, I teach at Southern Oregon Tattoo Academy, where I help others develop their skills and confidence. Outside of work, I love spending time with my partner, Chris, and being a mom to my incredible son, Emery—who’s my whole world. At home, you’ll often find me surrounded by my small army of cats, experimenting with new recipes, exploring the outdoors, or diving into some oddly specific topic that’s captured my attention.
At Focal Point Tattoo, my priority is to create a welcoming and professional space where you feel completely comfortable, seen, and excited about your tattoo. My hope is that every client walks away with not just a tattoo but an experience that feels personal and unforgettable—because tattoos are more than art; they’re a part of your story.
